Similarly to Carlingford, this was a big trip for us as it was a first for Freddie – his first time on a plane (and abroad). We ventured to an all inclusive resort in Corralejo as we didn’t want to have to cater to ourselves, and wanted somewhere where Freddie could be relatively easily entertained.
Corralejo is very much a “sun resort” on the North of Fuerteventura, whilst there are nearby mountains, and coastal paths to hike on, that was never going to happen for us with a 3 month old baby.
We arrived late into Fuerteventura the first night, missing food in the hotel, a Burger King delivery had to suffice instead.
Apart from this, Hotel Arena Beach was extremely accommodating – and I would recommend a trip here for others should they brave travelling with a baby/young child.
The next morning was where the real fun started, we explored the local town, and started sampling some of the local beers.

In terms of a write up of what we did, I can’t give our trip to Corralejo the usual “we did XYZ” write up, as the town was just a small resort town, and we didn’t do a lot. And a decent chunk of time was spent in the hotel pool, rather than actually exploring. But I’ll give it my best.
We ventured into the town centre, and tried some of the cocktails in “Ocean Beach Club”, they were divine to break the heat from the scorching sun.
The town was your typical “Canaries aimed at sun tourist” town, with trips advertised to nearby Lanzarote, and your typical souvenir shops filled with knick knacks.

Adowning the town was a lovely beach with soft sand, with a mixture of tourists and locals sunbathing, and taking sea dips on it.

From the north of the town, you can see neighbouring canary island, “Isla de Lobos”, located between Fuerteventura and Lanzarote.

Further along the beach was the delightful “Waikiki Beach Club”, allowing us another pit stop for cocktails before returning to our all inclusive resort.

We did venture off resort on other occasions to catch a Formula one race, and to just break the monotony a bit. But the vast majority of the trip was spent in the confines of the resort (hence me grasping at straws trying to find things to write about).
And to wrap things up, a quintessential photo of a sun holiday: a beer served in an icy glass.

Adios.
